Australia (2008)
This film directed by Baz Luhrmann is set in Northern Australia at the beginning of the second World War. It follows a young English woman (Nicole Kidman), as she comes to see the land she has inherited, only to be faced with the harsh reality of the Australian outback, a typical Aussie drover (Hugh Jackman) and the bombing of Darwin by the Japanese soldiers. In this tense atmosphere, the story will make you experience what Australia was like during this time, and that perseverance and determination can show what a person is truly capable of.
