Geography
Here you will find details about Australia’s geographic features.
It is important to remember that while Australia has a federal government, which acts on behalf of the entire nation, each state is controlled by its own autonomous body, the state government, the head of whom is the Premier of each state.

As such, when travelling, it is important to be aware of the differing state laws applicable around the country. Furthermore, due to Australia being such a large country, it is necessary to remember that a time difference does exist between the east and west coasts of Australia.
There are three time zones in Australia :
1 – Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST). This is Greenwich mean time +10 hours. This applies to the ACT, NSW, VIC, TAS and QLD.
2 – Central Standard Time (CST). This is AEST – 30 minutes. This applies to SA and NT.
3 – Western standard Time (WST). This is AEST – 2 hours. This applies to WA.
