Perth Beaches

perth beachPerth sits on the Indian Ocean with spectacular white sandy beaches lining the coast. One of Perth’s most popular beaches is Cottesloe. The suburb that surrounds Cottesloe has great nineteenth and twentieth century homes with Norfolk Pine trees lining the streets.

Cottesloe is a great place for swimming, snorkeling, and surfing as well as a great place to go to a pub or a cafe and enjoy a uniquely Western Australia pastime called Sunday Sessions that combines drinks, music, and good friends. It is the best place to watch the sun set into the Indian Ocean after a full day of beach fun.

Scarborough Beach is a great place for all things surfing and I mean all things surfing. From surfing, body surfing, kite surfing, and wind surfing the great surf breaks and regular swells make it a great place for surfing. Scarborough Beach has many restaurants and cafes to chose from, as well as many large grass areas to gather with friends and family to have a picnic or BBQ.

There are also five specially cast bells commemorating Australia’s bicentenary in 1988 that were presented to the University of Western Australia, the city of Perth, and the people of Western Australia from the London diocese of the Church of England and the parish of St. Martini-in -the-fields. Spectacular view of Swan River and the entire skyline can be seen from the observation deck from the Swan Bell Tower.
